Charlotte Camera Club Competition Guidelines

The Charlotte Camera Club's competitions are held four times a year in October December February and April. Competitions are open to all members and one-time guests. Only entries submitted by the deadlines will be accepted. Members must submit their own entries and no entries will be pulled during the competition. Digital entries must be submitted to: contest@charlottecameraclub.org. Two entries may be submitted in each of the following categories:

Color print
Black and white print
Digital

Entries will be judged on the following:

Impact- first impression, general interest
Creativity- artistic concept
Composition- arrangement of subject matter
Technique- lighting, exposure, depth of field, etc...

Images will judged and merit points will be awarded as follows:

5 points for blue level (Score of 42-45 points)
3 points for red level (Score of 38-41 points)
1 points for yellow level (Score of 34-37 points)

Ribbons will be awarded for images receiving merit points. Merit points accumulate toward Photographer of the Year. Ribbons and points are only awarded to club members.

Club Print Entry Requirements

Prints must be marked with the photographer's name and title of the work. Prints must have an up arrow at the top on the back of the print. Prints must also be mounted without glass or plastic. Minimum mount size is 8x10; maximum print size is 18x26. Image size can be less than 8x10 as long as the minimum mount is 8x10.

Club Digital Entry Requirements

Image subject matter is open to anything but nudes. Images must be submitted in attachment form to contest@charlottecameraclub.org. Each email must have the photographer's name and image title. All images must be in JPG (JPEG) format. The largest size accepted is 1024 pixels wide for horizontals and 768 pixels tall for verticals, with a resolution of 300 pixels per inch, at a quality of 12 or lower. The image MUST be 1024 pixels or less horizontally and 768 pixels or less vertically. Images must be oriented properly; images will be judged as submitted. Scores and comments will be posted on the CCC website, Digital Gallery page. Images may be submitted with copyright or watermark.

PSA Digital Entries

Entries for PSA competitions must be in the same format as for CCC. All images must be in JPG (JPEG) format; the largest size accepted is 1024 pixels x 768 pixels, with a resolution of 300 pixels/inch, at a quality of 12 or lower. The image MUST be 1024 pixels or less horizantally and 768 pixels or less vertically.

PSA-ICCC (International Creative Club Competition) entries must be submitted to: psaiccc@charlottecameraclub.org
