 #1 Holocaust Memorial in Spring-Boston by Laura Lansford Not a bad snapshot. The light is a bit harsh. Building is hidden by trees and blends with Sky. 9+10+10=29 pts |  #2 Trumpet Wave by Joe Colavita Good Color and Composition. Some thought the impact was a little weak. 9+12+13=34 pts |  #3 Thermal Pool by Maris Engle Nice composition and reflections. Also good layers and repetition of white rings.  #5 New Hampshire Church by Lindsey Lobree Good colors and composition. Focus seemed a little soft to some. The right Side tree branch sneaking in should be shoved out. 11+11+13=35 pts |  #6 Figure in the Shadows by Marilyn Frenkel Nice creative try. Figure is hard to see, focus appears soft, might work better as a vertical. 8+10+11=29 pts |  #7 Christmas Reflections by Marilyn Frenkel Colorful image with lots for the eye to enjoy. Perhaps a bit hot on the right side. Might work better as a vertical. 11+11+11=33 pts |  #8 Determination by Ralph Besnoy Good action shot. Both eyes are visible. While the paddle cutting the face in 2 was a bit distracting, the biggest drawback was all the water. Some wanted the out of focus foreground water cropped off some, some wanted the background water blurred more, and cropped off some. 11+12+14=37 pts |

Perhaps lose the light part along bottom edge just below the ledge like structure. 13+13+13=39 pts |  #10 Water Lily by Ken Barrett Nice color and composition. Depth of field perhaps a little narrow. Some thought the impact was good, some thought it a little weak. 11+11+13=35 pts |  #11 Down in the Valley by Lindsey Lobree Nice leading lines and composition. The image might be improved if the fence was darker, and the top was cropped off a little. 11+12+12=35 pts |  #12 Cables in the Sky by Laura Lansford Nice abstract look with good color and lines. The shadow areas need to be darker with the top too close to the top edge of frame. 10+11+13=34 pts |

Judges found the image lacking interest and impact perhaps because the colors are a bit too odd. 9+10+12=31 pts |  #14 Palmetto by Maris Engle Good lines, angle, exposure, and general focus. The upper right seemed to get a bit soft. 12+12+13=37 pts |  #15 Lullway by Jim McClanaham Not a bad idea, with the tree branches doing a nice framing job. The image is a bit too contrasty, with that straight walkway being a little static and leading to nowhere. 10+10+11=31 pts |  #16 Yap A Gap by Jim McClanaham Good capture the moment image. Sharp and fills the frame as well. The 2 major concerns were the hot spots, especially on the right, and the odd coloring on the face. 10+11+12=33 pts |
