 #1 Bumblebee 2 by Alex Romero Nice blurred background. The key to often seen image is execution. The light is a little harsh, the bee seems a little soft, and perhaps crop a little off the bottom 9+10+10=29 pts |  #2 Sunflower by Maris Engle Composition, impact, color, and focus working well. Maybe more light on center would keep your eye from getting caught by the leaf on the right 11+11+13=35 pts |  #3 Stuck with the Bill by Joe Colavita Nice solid portrait with a sharp eye-almost an abstract, in effect. Some areas of white a little hot, beak seemed soft, some didn't like how the black on the bird bled into the background 10+13+13=36 pts |  #4 Low Hanging Fruit by Ken Barrett by Interesting subject and pose make for a good story shot. Focus is also good. Foreground could be a bit darker, bluish fur distracts, a little close to the right 11+12+13=36 pts |
 #5 Monarch Butterfly 2 by Ken Barrett Good sharp butterfly adds to the nice composition. Bright flower color distracts a little 12+13+14=39 pts |  #6 Great Blue Heron on Beach by Len Meltzer Background is nice and the bird is fairly sharp. Bird too close to the left side, it lacks a catch light, and overall need better lighting 11+11+12=34 pts |  #7 Young Dracula by Marilyn Frenkel Dramatic colors, nice background. A little soft, and it lack impact. Some wanted to crop off the top, and add to bottom, some wanted the opposite 10+10+10=30 pts |  #8 Down the Rabbit Hole by Tom Snyder Nice Abstract. Pale colors hurt the impact 8+9+10=27 pts |
 #9 Enter by Glenn DeRosa Nice street scene. Different problems for different folks. One wanted to lose the car reflection, One wanted to crop top window portion, One thought there were some small left side distractions 12+12+13=37 pts |  #10 Golden Tower by Joe Colavita Lots of movement present in image. Focal point (the stamen)too near the top, Too much and too big of the flower blurs in the bottom half 8+9+10=27 pts |  #11 Maori Warrior by Lindsey Lobree Reasonable pose and portrait with good impact and exposure. Spear close to the edge, lower highlights from body center, and it has a PR feel to it 11+11+12=34 pts |  #12 Kohala Coast by Lindsey Lobree Nice S-curve of the coast, good composition help by the plant framing. Image is really hurt by the dull gray light 9+10+10=29 pts |
 #13 Old Friends by Samia Buthman Nice Americana image. Nice advertisement image. Lacks impact, 2 separate image subjects. Different light might help as well as getting more contrast 8+11+12=31 pts |  #14 Notre Dame Illuminations by Samia Buthman Nice creative image. Tilt adds impact. Somewhat abstract image. Perhaps a more saturated color would help. The stained glass was too bright, and a little out of focus, as is the votive lights 9+11+13=33 pts |  #15 On the Edge by Tom Snyder Interesting composition, nice sweeping soft colors and focus. Some thought focus was too soft, it lacked impact, & needed to change the composition to the rule of 1/3's 7+8+12=27 pts |  #16 Plume by Maris Engle A good study in texture with high impact. Some thought the distance was a little in between, and perhaps crop off the outer border 10+13+14=37 pts |
 #17 Pier Group by Jim Hamphill Nice creative image in the "Altered Reality" area. Impact was low due to too much going on and a little too noisy. Simple would work better 9+10+11=30 pts |  #18 White Peacock Butterfly on Flowers by Len Meltzer Nice diffused light. In focus where it counts. Nice background. Subject lacked a little impact and has poor lighting and lack of color. Crop off the bottom a little 10+13+13=36 pts |
 #19 Lonely by Glenn DeRosa Interesting scene with the arrow in mirror adding some interest. It did lack some impact, with no focal point. The leaning building distracts 7+8+11=26 pts |
